Cookies & Local Storage

Last updated: 6 September 2026

Brevisnota uses a small amount of first-party browser storage for security, sessions and settings you choose. This page covers cookies and similar browser storage such as local storage.

Essential and security storage

  • brevisnota_session — keeps an authenticated web session and related session state. Standard session lifetime is currently 30 days, subject to sign-out and security controls.
  • XSRF-TOKEN — helps protect forms and authenticated requests against cross-site request forgery. It is tied to the web session/security flow.
  • device_id — a first-party device identifier used by signed-in Brevisnota functionality, security and view/device handling. Intended lifetime: 1 year.

Preference storage

  • device_type — remembers whether you selected the desktop or mobile interface. Intended lifetime: 1 year.
  • selected_locale — remembers your chosen language. Intended lifetime: 3 years.
  • theme — remembers a light/dark appearance choice where the feature is enabled. Intended lifetime: 3 years.

Local storage

Brevisnota can use local storage for preferences such as notification sound, media mute state, frequently used emoji/reactions, theme selection and whether wallet balances are hidden. These settings generally remain until you change them, clear site data, or the application removes them.

Do we use advertising or analytics cookies?

The standard Brevisnota configuration described by this policy does not place behavioural advertising or third-party analytics cookies. If optional tracking or advertising technology is introduced later, Brevisnota's controls and this policy must be updated and consent will be requested where required.

Why there is not a generic “accept all” button

Security/session storage is needed to provide requested account functionality. First-party appearance and preference storage is used to remember choices you make. Brevisnota therefore avoids presenting an “accept all tracking” choice when no such standard tracking is being requested.

Your controls

You can change many preferences inside Brevisnota and can delete or block cookies/local storage through your browser. Blocking essential session/security storage may prevent sign-in or other requested features from working correctly.

See the Privacy Policy for information about personal data beyond browser storage.
