Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 September 2026

This notice explains how personal information is handled when you use Brevisnota. Brevisnota is operated and managed by ZiloFish from the United Kingdom. Primary hosting infrastructure is located in Germany.

1. Information we process

  • Account information, such as email address, username, profile details, account status and authentication information.
  • Content and communications you choose to submit, including posts, replies, media, profile content and private messages.
  • Social and preference data, such as follows, blocks, bookmarks, reactions, language, theme and notification preferences.
  • Technical and security data, such as IP address, device/session identifiers, browser/device information, security events and server logs.
  • Transaction or business information if optional marketplace, wallet, jobs, business or payment functionality is used.
  • Support, report and moderation information where you contact us, submit a report or are involved in an account/content review.

2. Why we use personal information

Depending on the context, processing is carried out to provide the Brevisnota service and perform our agreement with you, meet legal obligations, protect legitimate interests such as security and abuse prevention, or on the basis of consent where consent is legally required.

  • Creating and authenticating accounts.
  • Delivering feeds, messaging, publishing and account features.
  • Remembering settings you choose.
  • Preventing fraud, abuse, spam and unauthorised access.
  • Investigating reports and enforcing platform rules.
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting and improving service reliability.
  • Complying with legal requirements and lawful requests.

3. Public and private information

Information you deliberately publish to a public or discoverable area can be seen by other people according to the service's current visibility controls. Private messages and non-public account data are not intended to be publicly indexed merely because they are stored by Brevisnota.

4. Hosting and international data flows

Brevisnota is managed from the United Kingdom and its primary hosting infrastructure is in Germany, an EEA country. Personal information may therefore be processed in both the UK and Germany. Where a service provider processes information in another country, appropriate transfer mechanisms or adequacy arrangements are used where required by applicable data-protection law.

5. Service providers

We may use infrastructure, email, security, media, authentication or payment providers to supply particular features. Providers receive only the information reasonably needed for their role and are subject to appropriate contractual, technical or legal controls where required. Optional third-party features are only relevant when those features are enabled or used.

6. Retention

Information is retained for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing an active account, security, dispute handling, backups and legal compliance. Some information may remain in protected backups for a limited period after it is removed from active systems. Security logs may be retained for an appropriate period to investigate abuse or technical incidents.

7. Security

Brevisnota uses measures including HTTPS, access controls, restricted server permissions, authentication controls, service isolation, backups and security monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should also use a strong unique password and protect access to your email account and devices.

8. Your rights

Depending on applicable law and circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, consent can generally be withdrawn for future processing. Requests may require identity verification.

If UK data-protection law applies and you remain dissatisfied after contacting the operator, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. Cookies and device storage

Brevisnota uses first-party security/session storage and preference storage. Current standard operation does not require behavioural advertising cookies. Details and current durations are in Cookies & Local Storage.

10. Children

Brevisnota is not intended to be used in breach of age or consent requirements that apply in the user's jurisdiction. Where we learn that an account cannot lawfully use the service, we may restrict or remove it.

11. Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated when Brevisnota's features, providers or legal obligations change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
